Artificial Intelligence is a two year master program in English at Radboud University.
The programme has three specializations: Web and Language Interaction, Robot Cognition and Computation in Neural and Artificial Systems
These specializations focus on different areas of natural and artificial intelligence. Within their different areas of interest, all specializations consist of three main topics; studying natural systems, developing artificial systems and computational models and implementing systems based on these models.
In this program you will learn to understand naturally intelligent systems, build artificially intelligent systems, and improve the interactions between natural and artificial systems.
Web and Language Interaction- Information and Communication Technology lies at the basis of this specialization. Human-human and human-computer communication can be found in natural language applications like the full-text systems such as Watson, and Siri, in brand sentiment detection and epidemic monitoring from tweets. But communication is also crucial for web applications and Apps that personalize information and make it accessible with other means.
Robot Cognition- in this specialization Human-Robot interaction will be examined; not only the robot's actions but also the human appreciation (e.g. trust) in the behaving robot needs.
Computation in Neural and Artificial Systems- in this specialization you will learn how models based on neural information processing can be used to develop artificial systems.You will learn to address various ways of modeling and understanding cognitive processing in humans. These range from abstract mathematical models of learning that are derived from Bayesian statistics, complexity theory and optimal control theory to neural information processing systems such as deep neural networks that simulate particular cognitive functions in a biologically inspired manner.

Possible careers: You can go on to perform PhD research in the Netherlands or abroad, filling positions for example at: the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (ICIS), the internationally renowned Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, affiliated institutes of de Donders Institute, such as the Behavioural Science Institute (BSI)
