Environmental Science for Sustainable Energy and Technology is a professional bachelor program in English at Avans University with a focus on issues like global warming, pollution and cradle. Students who graduate this program will deal with the following (only example) problems: the local authority in a city wants to be CO2 neutral by 2040 and the graduate is part of a consultancy team. She/he finds ways to reduce the energy consumption and utilise suitable sustainable energy sources. She/he researches the availability of solar power, hydropower, geothermal power, wind power and biomass. Her/his solution is financially viable and accepted by both industry and the public. She/he takes into consideration future developments, techniques and policies.
Lecturers and staff members of the program are highly qualified and the approach towards students is personal. They will work in small groups. A personal coach and study counsellor will give them plenty of guidance. The atmosphere is friendly and open. The composition of the student group extends from Europe to Africa and Asia. The projects come from the working environment, so students will handle realistic problems and data.
